“We are very lucky here at Roundwood Park that work experience is seen as a valuable and important part of our students’ education and development. Every year 10 student choses their own placement and spend a week learning about that business and how it operates. Students thrive in the opportunity to set their learning at school in the context of the world of work and our Year 10’s grow in confidence and employability skills. Employers tell us that they are impressed with the quality and calibre of our students and are happy in most cases to provide a reference for the future. Work experience week works but don’t just take our word for it, the results speak for themselves”.
Please take a look at the following website for Youth Connexions which is an information, advice and guidance service for young people. It has lots of information about issues concerning young people and there is a section for parents.
We also have a Youth Connexions personal adviser coming into school once a week. She talks to students about their career plans.
If your son or daughter needs any help or advice they can speak to Mrs Bech in the library to book an appointment or come along to the drop in session on Wednesday lunchtime in the library.
