Jade Bultitude [ 2008] Flautist
At 19:45 on Thursday 13th November 2014, Jade was performing at the Royal Greenwich International Early Music Festival in The Chapel at the Old Naval College , Greenwich with the Trinity Laban Soloists and Baroque Orchestra directed by Andrew Butterfield.
Dr and Mrs Smith had the pleasure of attending this concert at Jade’s suggestion and were suitable thrilled to see and hear Jade’s solo performance of CPE Bach’s flute concerto in A major.
Jade is currently in the final year of a Masters Degree in Flute Performance at the Trinity Laban Conservatoire of Music, studying with Anna Noakes. She is a recent recipient of the Michael Hirst Award and is also generously supported by the Harpenden Music Foundation.
In July this year she was awarded the Sir James Galway’s Rising Star Award and will be erforming as a solo artist at his flute festival in Switzerland in 2015.
Jade is also a very keen orchestral player and has been principal flute in the Young Musicians Symphony Orchestra in London since 2010, where she has had the opportunity to perform Saint-Saens Carnival of the Animals and Prokofiev Peter and the Wolf. She has also been principal flute in the City of Birmingham Youth Symphony Orchestra, where she was given the opportunity to perform Debussy’s Prelude a I’apres-midi d’un faune.
Jade graduated from the Birmingham Conservatoire with a Bachelor of Music honours degree in 2012. During this time she studied flute with Jonathan Rimmer, Colin Lilley, Marie Zupancic, Jane Mitchell (baroque flute) and Andrew Lane (piccolo). Prior to this she attended the Junior Guildhall School of Music and Drama studying with Nicolas Bricht. Jade has participated in masterclasses given by Sir James Galway, Philippa Davies, Anna Noakes, Trevor Wye, Peter Stark and Rachel Brown.
Jade has been an active participant on the Sir James Galway International Flute Master class course in Switzerland for the past three years. In 2011 Sir James Galway awarded her with an engraved Haynes head joint and in 2012 she was a scholarship student in the class. She also regularly attends their master classes in Villa Medici, Italy.
