RPS in the Community

We value both our local and the wider community and give back where and when we can.

Each year we support the Harpenden Rotary Shoe Box Appeal. Via student donations, we collate boxes of gifts to send to children in undeveloped countries all over the world so they have presents to open at Christmas.

Please read the document below to find out more and donate to this year’s appeal. The deadline is 12 November 2021.

We also organise an annual campaign to create ‘Warrior Packs’, which are bundles of items that we assemble and deliver to brighten the day of local cancer patients, young and old. Our Warrior Packs contain items such as bed socks, scarves, tea bags, candles, lip balms, hand creams, magazines, playing cards, colouring books, crayons, puzzle books etc – anything to make treatment and recuperation a little easier. Our House Captains and wider SLG run this campaign and do all of the sorting and deliveries to local hospitals and cancer units.

We are passionate about music here at RPS and we love to share that with our local community; whether it be concerts here at school, the annual Christmas Concert in St John’s Church, performing at Harpenden Carnival or taking part in events in our local theatres, we love attending them all.

We are lucky enough to have a state of the art 3G pitch here at RPS and we are delighted that we are able to share this with our local community. We are proud to work alongside Harpenden Colts FC in this venture, who are our partners and main sponsor, who use the pitch for training across all of their year groups and teams.
