Our School Charities
At RPS we value our local, wider and global community by way of supporting our three nominated school charities.
Through our endeavours at school we support three charities, raising both funds and awareness for one local charity, one national charity and one international charity. We support each one for a maximum of three years, at which point we ask our students to nominate a replacement. Student-led debate and voting follows before a new charity partner is confirmed. Our three current partners are detailed below:
St Albans & District Foodbank
We have been supporting this local foodbank for two years and have raised vital funds, as well as collecting and donating an enormous number of products to help care for our local community.
Our Sixth Form students regularly visit the bank to help out, and foodbank staff come into school to tell our students where and how their contributions are making a difference. We are proud to support this local charity in these times of increasing need. Read more about the foodbank > HERE
Make-A-Wish UK
Make-A-Wish UK is our national charity and we are delighted that our students chose this one. Our fundraising ensures that the charity can help to create joy, happiness and magical memories through granting life-changing wishes for children with critical illnesses. Mercy Ships
Mercy Ships is our international charity as voted for by our students. It is an amazing charity that operates hospital ships to deliver healthcare services across the world to regions where medical care is limited or inaccessible. To find out more about Mercy Ships please visit their website > HERE
