Training To Become A Teacher
Roundwood Park is a great school to choose from which to begin your teacher training, regardless whether you are only just starting to wonder whether teaching might be for you and you want to ‘just have a look’, or whether you have already decided ‘to go for it’.
We are passionate about education, teaching and learning, and we commit fully to the notion that we all gain if we are developing new teachers who are similarly professional, expert and passionate, and who enjoy what they do. As a trainee at RPS we will support you with dedicated, professional mentoring of the highest quality, and ensure that your training, mentoring and preparation time is fully respected and prioritised. We all lose if teachers are trained in an environment where they regret their career choice.
If you are currently just at the stage of wanting to find out more, options might include just coming to have a chat with us, visiting some lessons, doing some classroom-based volunteering, or finding a vacancy as a Learning Support Assistant (Teaching Assistant). Our own Learning Support team is large, so vacancies arise fairly frequently, and are posted on the Vacancies tab of this website.
Regardless of your stage, the best contact for you here will be Alex Gray, our Assistant Headteacher with special responsibility for teacher training. You can contact Alex at a.gray@roundwoodpark.co.uk
