Transition Work KS4 to KS5
The step up from Year 11 to Year 12 and Level 3 study can be huge. There are however plenty of transition tasks that students can do to reduce this academic leap.
Each of our subject teachers has put together some activities to watch (documentaries or TED talks), complete (such as an online course), listen (Podcasts, or radio programme) or read. These tasks are to help broaden student’s interest in the subjects they studied at GCSE or are looking to study in the Sixth Form. We have also put together some Careers / Mental Health and Wellbeing suggestions too.
For students who feel they would like to further embed GCSE curriculum content in which they are less secure, please look at the video lessons available on the Oak National Academy website.
Please note, these transition tasks are not to be confused with specific bridging tasks for the A Level / BTEC courses chosen. Subject specific bridging tasks will be set at Induction in July, for students holding offers. Bridging work will be closely related to the course of study and should be completed and submitted in September, at the start of Year 12.
