Saul Wilson Island medics 2017After leaving Roundwood Park, Saul Wilson ( class of 2004), he attended the University of Cardiff for five years, where he fully qualified as a Doctor of Medicine and Surgery. He has spent the past years on rotation, working for two years for NHS Grampian in Aberdeen and then on Stornoway, Isle of Lewis. He is now in A&E at the most remote UK Hospital of Gilbert Bain in Lerwick, Shetlands. He will appear in a BBC documentary , Island Medics, scheduled to be televised on BBC1 on December 6th at 0915-1000h. Alternatively it can be viewed on the BBC iPlayer.

“Junior Doctor and newcomer to Shetland Dr Saul Wilson (pictured) is thrown in at the deep end, when two serious cases arrive simultaneously into Accident and Emergency.

Dr Wilson will need to use all his skills and rely on the vast experience of Shetland’s nursing staff if he is to provide the care required.

Away from the hospital, viewers will get to meet the doctor working on the isle of Unst – the most northerly practice in the United Kingdom. And two of the new junior doctors take to the water to try out a popular Shetland hobby.”

Promotion within the company took him to Divisional Manager to his current position as Associate Director.

Zoe is currently a Senior Accounts Manager at The Good Relations Group. After leaving us in 2004, Zoe embarked on a significant period of study to gain academic qualifications to support her career goals. She gained a BSc(hons) in Geography from the University of Birmingham, then studied French at Birkbeck College before gaining a Media Law qualification from the University of London , an MA in Political Communication from Goldsmiths college and finally an MBA [online] from the London School of Business & Finance. These all helped Zoe to work her way up to her present position via a number of key posts at John Lewis, Dodds group and the RICS.

Todd Baines [2004] drives forward for Harpenden Hockey Club.

Roundwood Park has long been a main provider for Harpenden Hockey Club with many players , both men and women, rising through the ranks to play 1st team league hockey. Many go on to university and continue their playing careers and Tom is such an example. Having gained a degree in Science & Management at Nottingham Trent he is now a school PE teacher where he can pass on his skills and experience to a new generation of budding hockey players.

Gemma gained an MA (hons) in Graphic Design from the London College of Communication as well as a BA(1st class hons) from Nottingham Trent  and a BTech Diploma in Art & Design from Middlesex University. After working  for a number of companies Gemma is now a Freelance Graphic Designer.

Claire McKenna 2013

Claire McKenna [2004]

Claire left in 2004 and went on to gain a BSc (hons) in Osteopathic Medicine from SIOM (University of Surrey, Institute of Osteopathic Medicine) in 2008. After acting as the Osteopath to the Swedish mens’ and womens’ national rugby teams , Claire currently is an Osteopath at the White Room and is practice director at the Body Mechanix and the AldwickBury Clinic and also a lecturer at the Irish College of Osteopathic Medicine.


Kat Hubrecht

Katharine Hubrecht [2004]

Katharine gained a BA (1st class hons) in Natural Sciences from the University of Cambridge and then went on to gain a teaching qualification before spending two years teaching science in a secondary school.  Katharine  has since moved into the world of commerce where she is now a Management Consultant specialising in business analysis at Accenture in London.


Tom Slater [2004]

Tom studied Construction Management at Coventry University [2007] and from there continued to work in the construction industry working for Bellway Homes, John Laings and Higgins Construction. He is currently a Technical Coordinator for Bellway Homes in Hertfordshire.
