Mark gained a BA hons in Geography from the University of Exeter. Mark’s career started in resourcing and recruitment. From Senior Resourcing Manager at Barclays to Head of Graduate Recruitment at BDO Stoy Hayward (accountants). Mark quickly acquired considerable experience in the recruitment field and moved on to be Head of Resources at Cancer Research to his current position where he is Senior Recruitment Manager at the law firm, Allen & Overy in London.
Jon graduated from the University of Birmingham. He worked as a Contract Consultant at Computer People and then The Venus Group before embarking on a career in the newspaper/marketing industry. Initially he worked as a reporter for the Kentish Times newspaper before moving to The Independent in London; first as a sub-editor through to Foreign News Editor and also as a News Editor. Jon then moved to take up a post as Managing Editor at the law practice of Freshfields, Bruckhaus and Derringer in London. He is currently Head of Content Marketing at this practice.
I left Roundwood Park in 1993 and became an Estate agent in Harpenden the following year. I worked in Harpenden for 10 years and decided to set up my own company in Wheathampstead – Master Moves. I did this at the tender age of 29 a month after my son was born. 3 years ago I was made an offer I couldn’t refuse and merged with Cassidy and Tate of St.Albans. I am currently the director of the Wheathampstead office.
David gained a BSc in Physics from the University of Leeds and then a Ph.D. in Materials Science from the University of Cambridge. After working in Materials Science at the University of Oxford for a few years, David then moved to the Department of Work & Pensions (DWP) in London as a Principal Scientific Officer. His current role is Universal Credit Policy Analysis which involves childcare and various aspects of earnings/earnings policy. Complex microsimulation modelling of caseloads and costings. Ministerial and public briefing. Engagement with broad range of external stakeholders on analytical issues within policy. Lead on all issues to do with entry to the Operational Research Profession in DWP.
Peter gained a Masters of Research degree in Environmental Science from UCL in London in 1997. Soon after this he joined Capgemini where he remains today as a Senior Consultant.
Emily gained a BSc (combined honours in Biology & Psychology) from Aston university before taking a Post Graduate Diplome in Personnel Management from Coventry University. She is currently a Human Resources Business Partner at Home Retail Group following a number of personnel/HR positions at Barclays Bank that took the Cottenham family [ Emily and husband Simon and two young children] to live and work in some Scandinavian countries.
