David Pankhurst (1993)
David gained a BSc in Physics from the University of Leeds and then a Ph.D. in Materials Science from the University of Cambridge. After working in Materials Science at the University of Oxford for a few years, David then moved to the Department of Work & Pensions (DWP) in London as a Principal Scientific Officer. His current role is Universal Credit Policy Analysis which involves childcare and various aspects of earnings/earnings policy. Complex microsimulation modelling of caseloads and costings. Ministerial and public briefing. Engagement with broad range of external stakeholders on analytical issues within policy. Lead on all issues to do with entry to the Operational Research Profession in DWP.
