“I’m running for the Royal Parks Dogs Trust 🐶 in this years RP Half Marathon next Sunday(8th October).

I am hoping to raise as much money and awareness as possible for this fantastic charity 💛

Dogs Trust have been working for a better future for dogs and the people who love them since 1891.
This charity will not rest until every dog in their care has found a safe and loving home. Every year, more and more dogs are abandoned or worse.

All dogs deserve to live life to the full 🐶💛”

I have just completed a post graduate certificate in medical image reporting and am now a qualified msk reporting radiographer. Since sixth form (2009) I studied radiography at City university, London and have been at Addenbrookes hospital in Cambridge since 2012. This year has been the hardest of my career with studying and working front line with covid patients in addition to training for and completing the London marathon.

Volunteer Police Cadets from St Albans and Harpenden visited the Houses of Parliament to grill a local MP on important local issues.

There was a question and answer session with Hitchin and Harpenden MP Bim Afolami, who gave the youngsters a full tour around Westminster on their sightseeing trip to London.

The St Albans and Harpenden Cadets also went to see 10 Downing Street and New Scotland Yard.

Group leader Sgt Steve Alison said: “It was a really informative day out and a great opportunity for the cadets to talk about local issues. I would like to thank Mr Afolami for hosting us.”

Police cadets, aged between 14 and 18, learn about the law and crime enforcement procedures, as well as work alongside officers at local events.

They also take part in activities such as white-water rafting, camping, court visits and attend music festivals and carnivals.

Alex Mayall (2009)

After his BA in Physics from Oxford, Alex gained an MSc in Cybernetics from the University of Reading. Alex then worked for a computer software company before moving to the financial services sector where he is currently an Advisory Associate at Anthemis Group in London

Hannah Galliers (2009)

After life in the Sixth Form, Hannah studied Accountancy & finance at the University of Gloucestershire, gaining a BSc. She is currently a Senior at Crowe, Clarke and Whitehill LLP.

Jimmy Speirs (2009) leads the charge!

Jimmy Speirs (2009) continues to be a key player in the Old Albanians (OAs) RFC. Jimmy has been featured in the Herts Advertiser ( Harpenden edition) for the last two weeks. He helped OAs to achieve a last gasp win over Belsize Park , 23-20, to take his team top in the London North West Division 2.

Emma Gibbs (class of 2009) and Matt Sharman were married in July 2017. Emma worked as a temporary Science teacher at Plymouth High School for girls before they go off travelling for 2 months in October.

Jon Richardson [2009]

A former Head Boy, Jon gained a BSc hons. degree in History with International Relations from Nottingham Trent University. Whilst there he was also the junior squad rowing coach. Jon moved into publicity, journalism, events management and HR policy matters… He is currently a Marketing Assistant at TAG Systems in Lincolnshire.

Timmy Lee [2009]

Timmy gained a BEng in Mechanical Engineering from the University of Nottingham. He returned to Hong Kong to take up internships as an Editor (Fast Media) and then as an Account Executive (Start JudgeGill). He next joined Groupon (HK) as a Creative Copywriter and then as an English Editor. After a spell as a Creative Copywriter at Pressie Ltd, he is now currently the Wealth Management Manager at AIA ( an insurance company in HK).

Carmen Grace Walker (2009)

Carmen Grace gained a BA in Broadcast Journalism from Nottingham Trent University.

She is currently the PR Manager for True Religion Brand Jeans in London. Previously she worked in the Media department at Purple as Head of Media and previously as a Press Assistant at Liberty Ltd.
