Bronze age remains found under planned site for Harpenden’s 4th school.
A Herts County Council spokesperson has indicated that the archaeological evaluation on the site of the new school has revealed archaeological features potentially dating from the Bronze Age , Iron Age and Anglo Saxon periods. It was Alexander Thomas ( class of 2008 ), and Archaeological and Anthropological Ph.D. student, that undertook field work ( Ground Penetrating Radar) and suggested Roman Industrial buildings dating between 50-400AD.
